Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2025

These Terms of Service govern your use of AfriNum, operated by BLACK HUSTLR VENTURES LTD. Please read them carefully before using the platform.

1. Acceptance of terms

  • By creating an account or using AfriNum in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
  • We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of AfriNum after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

2. Acceptable use

  • Virtual numbers provided by AfriNum are for receiving one-time passwords (OTPs) and SMS verification messages only.
  • You may not use AfriNum numbers to impersonate any person or organisation, send spam, conduct fraud, or engage in any illegal activity.
  • You may not use AfriNum to circumvent law enforcement or abuse detection systems of any service in a manner that violates that service's own terms.
  • You may not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or exploit AfriNum's API or infrastructure.
  • One account per user. Creating multiple accounts to exploit free credits or pricing policies is prohibited.

3. Virtual numbers

  • Virtual numbers are temporary and are provided for the purpose of receiving verification codes. They are not real phone lines and cannot be used for voice calls or outbound messaging.
  • Numbers expire after the period displayed at purchase (typically 20 minutes for OTP numbers). Unused time is not carried over.
  • AfriNum does not guarantee that any specific service's OTP system will work with a virtual number. Compatibility depends on the third-party service's policies.
  • You must not publish or share AfriNum numbers publicly in a way that causes others to use them simultaneously.

4. Wallet and payments

  • All wallet balances are denominated in Nigerian Naira (NGN) and displayed in USD equivalent at a fixed platform rate.
  • Wallet top-ups are processed by Paystack. AfriNum does not store your card or bank details.
  • Minimum top-up amount is $2 USD equivalent.
  • Wallet balances are not redeemable for cash and have no monetary value outside the AfriNum platform.

5. Refund policy

  • If you purchase a virtual number and do not receive any OTP or SMS within the active window, you are entitled to a full automatic refund to your wallet.
  • Refunds are processed automatically when you cancel an active number that has not received an OTP.
  • No refunds are issued after an OTP has been received and delivered to your dashboard.
  • Wallet top-up payments are non-refundable to your original payment method once credited to your wallet.
  • For disputes related to Paystack payment processing errors, contact us at support@afrinum.com within 48 hours.

6. Account termination

  • You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or abuse the platform.
  • Upon termination, your wallet balance is forfeited unless the termination was caused by our error.
  • We may terminate or suspend access immediately and without prior notice for serious violations.

7. Limitation of liability

  • AfriNum is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of virtual numbers or OTP delivery.
  • AfriNum is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
  • Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid to AfriNum in the 30 days preceding the claim.

8. Governing law

  • These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
  • Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to the courts of Nigeria.
  • AfriNum is operated by BLACK HUSTLR VENTURES LTD, Nigeria.

8. Communication Hub terms

  • Communication Hub numbers are real phone numbers provisioned through a third-party telecommunications provider. AfriNum acts as a reseller and is subject to that provider's policies and availability.
  • Communication Hub number purchases and renewals are non-refundable. Once a number has been provisioned, no refund will be issued even if the number is not used.
  • Calls and SMS messages are charged per use. Charges are deducted from your wallet at the time of use. Unused call minutes are not refunded.
  • Fair use policy: you may not use Communication Hub numbers to send bulk, automated, or unsolicited messages (spam). Sending more than 50 messages per day from a single number may result in account suspension.
  • US-to-US SMS may be subject to carrier filtering due to A2P 10DLC regulations. AfriNum is not liable if messages are filtered or blocked by carriers.
  • Prohibited uses: using Communication Hub numbers for fraud, impersonation, harassment, robocalling, phishing, or any illegal activity under Nigerian or international law. Violations will result in immediate account termination.
  • You are solely responsible for the content of all messages and calls made using your Communication Hub number. AfriNum does not monitor message content but reserves the right to suspend accounts upon credible reports of abuse.
  • AfriNum may discontinue, modify, or restrict Communication Hub services at any time with reasonable notice where possible.
  • Users are solely responsible for how they use communication numbers. AfriNum complies with applicable telecommunications laws in Nigeria and internationally.
  • US numbers require A2P 10DLC registration for any business-to-consumer SMS campaigns. Users sending marketing or automated messages from US numbers must obtain this registration independently.
  • Prohibited uses include, without limitation: unsolicited bulk SMS (spam), robocalling, call spoofing, telemarketing without consent, phishing, and any use that violates TCPA (USA), GDPR (EU), or Nigerian Communications Commission guidelines.

9. Privacy and data retention

  • AfriNum stores the following communication metadata: the phone number used (from), the recipient number (to), message/call type, timestamp, cost, call duration, and Twilio message/call SID.
  • AfriNum does NOT store the content of SMS messages or audio recordings of calls. Message bodies and call audio are not retained after delivery.
  • Communication metadata may be reviewed internally for fraud prevention, billing disputes, and legal compliance purposes.
  • Communication metadata is retained for a maximum of 12 months from the date of the transaction, after which it is deleted.
  • Wallet transaction records (amount, type, timestamp) are retained for a minimum of 5 years in accordance with Nigerian financial record-keeping requirements.

10. Compliance and legal process

  • AfriNum may share communication metadata (not message content) with law enforcement agencies, regulatory bodies, or courts when required to do so by a valid legal process such as a court order, subpoena, or equivalent legal instrument.
  • By using AfriNum Communication Hub features, you consent to this potential disclosure of transaction metadata under valid legal process.
  • AfriNum reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account that shows signs of abuse, illegal use, or violation of these terms, without prior notice in cases where immediate action is required to protect the platform or third parties.
  • Users who believe their account was suspended in error may contact support to appeal the decision.
